I have been to three general practitioners and none of them are able to help me with my weakness, flabbiness, weight gain, and general malaise. I look and feel like I'm 60, but I'm only 40 years old. I suspect I have a hormone imbalance. Is it okay for me to see a hormone specialist even without a referral from one of these general practitioners?

Yes, it is okay for you to see a hormone specialist at our clinic even without a referral from one of these general practitioners. In fact, it may be the best thing for you to do. We welcome your call and are eager to help you; no referral is necessary.

It sounds like you have been struggling with your health for a while now, and you are not getting the answers or help you need from your general practitioners. It is possible that they are not familiar with hormone imbalances or how to treat them.

A hormone specialist – especially the board-certified specialist physicians at our clinic – will have more experience in diagnosing and treating hormone imbalances. They will be able to run the necessary tests to determine what is causing your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that is right for you.

If you are concerned about seeing a hormone specialist without a referral, you can always call our office and schedule a test. No referral needed at all! We enthusiastically welcome patients who are self-referred – they are often the brightest and most knowledgeable about their own health. And we are also enthusiastic about helping people who have been struggling and really need our help. We love to see the smiles on the faces of our patients who literally get their lives – and their vibrant youth and good health – back.

If I see a hormone specialist without a referral, will my general practitioner be angry with me?

It is unlikely that your general practitioner will be angry with you if you come into our clinic to see one of our hormone specialists without a referral. Most general practitioners understand that patients sometimes need to see specialists for specific conditions. In fact, many general practitioners will encourage their patients to see specialists if they are not able to provide the necessary care. This is true even if you’ve never talked to your general practitioner about it.

It is important to remember that your health is your top priority. If you are not getting the answers or help you need from your general practitioner, it is okay to see a specialist. In fact, it is more than okay – it may be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made. Remember, the physicians at our clinic are the best in the field – they have the latest and best training and are better qualified than any general practitioner to help you get your body’s hormone levels back on track so you can live the best life you can possibly live.
